Abuelita Rita's Birthday

We took my mom out for her birthday yesterday. We all had a lot of fun, but I forgot my camera. I did sneak these pictures with my cell phone. Happy 54th Birthday, Mom!

Guess Who's Walking!!!

Michael has been taking steps for a while, but he really started walking on Thursday!! He's walking about 80% of the time now. I can't get used to seeing him toddle around. WE HAVE A TODDLER!!!! Here are some videos:

The sad demise of "Goodnight Moon"

We have a pretty standard bedtime routine; Sippy, Bath, Book and Bed. I start the routine by stripping Michael nakey in his bedroom, then he crawls at top speed into the bathroom where Jaime is drawing the bath.

So Tuesday night the routine was pretty normal, except Jaime came into Michael's bedroom to talk to me, affording Michael some time to play nakey. He goes to his bookself, pulls out Goodnight Moon (his favorite, which we read every night) and proceeds to "read" it. I mentioned to Jaime how cute it was, and about a minute later pick him up and proceed with the routine.

Fast forward to storytime and I go to grab Goodnight Moon from the floor and it is sopping wet. Apparently what I thought was a quick read was a quick potty break. I noticed him standing at the bookshelf with the book on the floor, so he must have great aim.

Anyway, I let the book air out, even though Michael still wanted me to read it, pee on or not. It's pretty beat up and I have to pick up a new copy this weekend.

Goodnight book, you have served us well.

Doesn't everyone wear shorts on their heads?

Michael was being silly today, so I had to record it for posterity.

After the rain...

We had horrible storms today with torrential downpours, thunder, lighting and nickle sized hail. After the 3rd storm, the sun came out around 7:30 and I saw 2 rainbows in the horizon from our backyard. I've never seen 2 before and they were beautiful!

Melysa's Birthday!

Today was my 34th (GASP) birthday. Jaime took Michael and let me sleep until I woke up at 9:30. I received beautiful presents from my boys including a charm bracelet, a plant and 2 sets of beautiful earrings. We then enjoyed an early dinner at the Cheesecake Factory where we ate entirely too much. I highly recommend the Strawberry Shortcake.

Here are a few pictures of Michael and I.

Fingerpainting!

I wanted to do more sensory activities with Michael, so today we tried fingerpainting with vanilla yogurt and food coloring. He had the best time and I am not sure what he enjoyed more the painting or licking his fingers. I do know that all he kept saying was Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

You can also see his latest haircut. All was going well, until the hairdresser got to his bangs and Michael refused to stay still. Oh well, at least it will grow back quickly.

What does Michael think of mornings?

Apparently not very nice things. I took these pictures this morning while he was chilling out in his new chair.

Fun with Food!

Michael is really determined to feed himself now a days. He's been doing really well and wants to eat like a big boy by biting off pieces of food and gets mad if you cut it up. Here are some recent videos and pictures of his food escapades.

Our playdate with Megan

Michael and I had a playdate with our friend Evelyn and her little girl, Megan. We went to an indoor play center Jellybean Jungle in Cherry Hill. (It is way to hot to be outside.) I am so proud of how well Michael played with Megan. After playing for a bit, we went to Cheesecake factory for lunch. It was awesome and the kids made a pretty big mess. Oh, well, we tipped well.

Getting ready to leave.

Megan has the best toys!

All strapped in and comfy with our snacks while gassing up.

Tons of fun in the big ball pit!

Megan was a climbing pro.

Kisses!

Slides are the best!

Twins?

Warming up for our duet.

A concert on our drive over to have lunch:

Lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Sharing a french fry.

Comatose on the ride home, yet still cluching the snacks. Our little angels.

Our Photo Wall

I wanted to put photos up on the wall in an interesting way. I found a crafter that makes custom letters and can up with this layout. I still need to paint all of the picture frames black and pick out more pictures, but I love it! It is the perfect touch for our family room and really makes it homey.
